A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy on improving emotional regulation and communication skills of adolescents with oppositional defiant disorder

Introduction: Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is one of the crucial disorders in childhood and adolescence which externalizing spectrum disorders. Aim: The purpose this study was to investigate effectiveness cognitive-behavioral therapy hypnotherapy on improving emotional regulation communication skills adolescents with oppositional defiant disorder. Method: This research has been executed context a clinical trial plan pre-test post-test one-month follow up period. Among students disorder junior school Urmia city who were studying (school) year 2020- 2021 that 51 people purposefully selected placed randomly three groups (17 for therapy, 17 control) assistance schools’ teachers principals, parents utilizing diagnostic interviews also supplying inclusion criteria research. Then cognitivebehavioral group intervened based intervention stranded protocols but members control did not receive any intervention. After end month, follow-up test performed scales used again. Tools included: Child Behavioral Checklist (CBCL), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) inventory. SPSS-22 software repeated measures analysis variance analyze data. Results: results indicated both improve (F=1.53, P>0.224) adaptive emotion (F=2.45, P>0.575) reduction maladaptive (F=2.56, P>0.127) equally affected there no significant difference between them.
